How to Choose a Range Hood?
Choosing a range hood involves several considerations to ensure it meets your cooking needs and fits well with your kitchen design. Here are some key factors to consider:
Type of Range Hood:
a. Wall-Mounted: Installed on the wall above the range, suitable for most kitchen layouts.
b. Under-Cabinet: Mounted beneath kitchen cabinets, ideal for kitchens with limited space.
c. Island: Designed for island cooking surfaces, typically hanging from the ceiling.
d. Downdraft: Integrated into the countertop, rises up when in use and can be a space-saver.
Size: The hood should be at least as wide as your cooking surface. Ideally, it should extend 3 inches beyond the edges of the cooktop. DE&E offers standard sizes in 60cm, 90cm and 70/75cm.
Ventilation Type:
a. Ducted: Vents air outside your home, offering better performance and air quality. If you prefers heavy cooking which produces excessive fumes, please consider to purchase a ducted range hood.
b. Ductless (recirculating): Filters air and recirculates it back into the kitchen, easier to install but typically less effective. This type is more suitable for less-fume cooking.
Both types DE&E manufacture. You can always choose a suitable one for your kitchen.
Suction power: A measure of airflow. A general rule of thumb is 100 CFM (about 170m³/h) for every 10,000 BTUs (about 2.93kW) of your cooktop’s output. Consider how often you cook and the types of cooking you do. DE&E has many super big suction power range hoods for heavy cooking.
Noise Level: It is important. When you are cooking, you also want to share family time with other family members. Do not let a noisy range hood destroy.
Filters: Choose between metal (easier to clean and dishwasher-safe) or charcoal filters (for ductless models). Ensure the filters are easy to access and replace.
Style and Finish: Match the range hood’s design with your kitchen décor. Common finishes include stainless steel, black, white, or custom hood options. DE&E usually adopts materials like stainless steel, coated SPCC in different colors or even higher level materials like black stainless steel and Titanium. We can customize the body material according to your preference.
Features: Consider additional features such as LED lighting, variable fan speeds, easy-to-use controls, or smart features that allow for connectivity to home systems. Many models from DE&E are also equipped with smart features like auto-heated self-clean, gesture control and hood&hob linkage. The hood with auto-heated self-clean function will automatically activate cleaning mode after it works for accumulative 60 hours and shut down after 30 minutes. The hood with gesture control feature can be turned on or off by waving your hand, which will not make your fingers dirty when operating it.
Installation: Consider whether you’ll be installing it yourself or hiring a professional. Ducted models may require more complex installation. Though you can do it yourself, but we suggest that you hire a technician to do the installation work to avoid electrical hazard.
Budget: Range hoods can vary significantly in price. Set a budget, keeping in mind that a higher-end model may provide better performance and longevity. DE&E offers range hoods of different price range. You can definitely choose the one suits you best.
By taking these factors into account, you can select a range hood that fits your cooking preferences, kitchen layout, and budget effectively.
Why Choose DE&E as Your Supplier?
Founded in 1992, DE&E Appliances specializes in the independent research, development, production, and sales of household kitchen appliances, among which range hood and gas hob are its advantageous products. In China, DE&E is the Top5 brand in kitchen appliances indusrty. It has been devoted to researching "super air pressure" technology for over a decade. "Super air pressure" technology solves the problem of smoke backflow. The core of this technology is the air duct system—high-efficiency bionic impeller and a variable frequency motor together with the well-designed motor housing, setting a new industry record with an impressive 1800Pa air pressure. It is a manifestation of DE&E's R&D strength. DE&E places great importance on its product development capabilities, investing 5% of its annual revenue into research and development, which has led to numerous industry-leading products.
DE&E’s smart factory is currently one of the largest and most advanced production bases for high-end kitchen appliances in China. It is a demonstration enterprise for industrial internet and factory IoT in Hangzhou, as well as a national-level pilot enterprise for the integration of information technology and industrialization management systems. The smart factory utilizes IoT technology to achieve digital information management across the entire manufacturing process by integrating the six essential production elements: people, machines, materials, methods, environment, and measurement. This includes the issuance of production tasks, monitoring of manufacturing processes, quality control, and inventory management. Additionally, by connecting with management systems such as MES, WMS, PLM, and ERP, it facilitates a flattened manufacturing structure, enabling the “Manufacturing Control Center” to centrally schedule and effectively monitor the entire production process on the front line.
Additionally, the smart factory based on the Industrial 4.0 concept deeply integrates manufacturing and information technology, with intelligent manufacturing as its core.
1) It employs advanced technologies to monitor production processes in real time. This enables immediate response to any quality issues, ensuring consistent quality throughout production.
2) It incorporates traceability features that allow for full visibility of the production process. This includes tracking materials, equipment, and even personnel involved in manufacturing, ensuring that any quality concerns can be traced back to their source.
3) DE&E also owns a national-level testing center which covers comprehensive safety testing, performance testing, reliability assessments, and lifespan evaluations. It has the capability to test all DE&E products and core components, providing authoritative monitoring of product quality. This ensures that every item leaving DE&E's factory is trustworthy, while also providing reliable date and experimental support for technological innovation and development.
What Kinds of Range Hoods We Manufacture?
Currently we manufacture T-shape, curve-glass and angle hoods. These different styles of range hoods, each with unique designs, aesthetics, and functional characteristics.

T-Shape Hoods:
Design: These hoods have a flat, rectangular top that resembles the letter “T” when viewed from the side. They typically have a sleek, modern look.
Functionality: T-shaped hoods are designed to be mounted against a wall and can effectively capture smoke and odors due to their width. They often provide good ventilation for standard-sized cooking ranges.
Installation: Usually wall-mounted but can come in different configurations (ducted or ductless).

Curved Glass Hoods:
Design: These hoods feature a curved or arched glass panel, giving them a more contemporary and elegant appearance. The glass is often supported by stainless steel components, creating a striking visual effect.
Functionality: The curved design helps in drawing air and fumes towards the hood while adding an aesthetic element to the kitchen. They are generally effective but may vary in performance based on height and placement.
Installation: Typically wall-mounted, although some models may be designed for island installation.

Angle Hoods:
Design: Angle hoods are characterized by their angled shape, which allows them to fit snugly into corner installations. They often have a unique, modern look that differs from traditional flat or curved styles.
Functionality: They maximize ventilation while allowing for efficient smoke extraction from gas stovetops or ranges. The design can help direct smoke upward and out more effectively in corner installations.
Installation: These hoods are often designed for wall mounting in corners, making them suitable for specific kitchen layouts.
FAQ
Q: What are the key functions of range hoods?
A: They effectively remove odors, smoke, and grease from the air while cooking. By capturing cooking byproducts, they help maintain cleaner air quality. Additionally, they reduce heat and steam, contributing to a more comfortable cooking environment. Furthermore, by preventing grease and stains, they protect kitchen cabinets and surfaces, helping to keep the kitchen looking neat and clean.
Q: What is the best material for a range hood?
A: Stainless steel is the most popular choice of material for range hood. It is the most common material for good reason. Copper is the elegant and timeless choice of material for range hood. Tempered glass as material for range hood is modern and sleek. Wood features a warm and rustic touch as the material for range hood. To select which one is best, other factors need to be taken into consideration, such as cost, endurance, cleaning and maintenance, etc.
Q: Are ducted range hoods better?
A: Ducted range hoods are generally more effective than ductless models, as they efficiently eliminate smoke, moisture, heat, and odors by venting them outside. Their superior performance makes them ideal for heavy cooking, offering enhanced efficiency and quieter operation. While installation may be more costly due to the need for exterior wall access, the benefits they provide in maintaining a clean and comfortable kitchen environment make them a worthy investment.
Q: How many years does a range hood last?
A: A range hood usually will have lifespan between 10 to 15 years, depending on various factors such as the quality of the unit, frequency of use, maintenance practices, and installation conditions. Premium-quality, well-maintained models can sometimes be used for even longer time, while those that are used more frequently or not adequately cared for may have a shorter lifespan. Regular cleaning and timely filter replacements can help extend the life of your range hood.
Q: Can I use PVC pipe to vent a range hood?
A: No. It is not recommended to use PVC pipe for range hood ducting. PVC is not naturally fire-resistant, and it is reasonable to conclude that PVC pipes are not treated with flame-retardant materials either.
