Currently, there are four main types of range hoods on the market, with the mainstream styles being Chinese-style range hoods, European-style range hoods, side-draft range hoods, and downdraft range hoods.
1. Chinese-style Range Hoods
Chinese-style range hoods generally use high-power motors, so they require more space, produce more noise, are more difficult to clean, and have a shorter lifespan. Furthermore, Chinese-style range hoods use ordinary exhaust fans to directly vent indoor fumes outdoors, causing some pollution to the surrounding environment. Therefore, Chinese-style range hoods are gradually being phased out of the market.
2. European-style Range Hoods
European-style range hoods are mostly wall-mounted with flat mesh filters. The technology is relatively mature, and the smoke extraction effect is good. They also have a beautiful and stylish appearance, suitable for open kitchens, especially for high-end users.
3. Side-draft Range Hoods
Side-draft range hoods are installed closer to the wall, using suction to change the direction of the rising fumes, drawing them into the exhaust vent from the side. Side-draft range hoods are less likely to cause head bumps, have a stylish and attractive appearance, and their suction inlet is close to the point of oil fume extraction, resulting in excellent suction and exhaust performance.
4. Integrated Cooktop
An integrated cooktop combines a gas stove, range hood, disinfection cabinet, steam oven, and dish rack into one unit. It saves space, has a strong sense of unity, and offers excellent oil fume extraction and exhaust. However, it is more difficult to maintain and clean, and is relatively expensive.
